Hargeisa – (Hornpost) The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland and Acting President, H.E. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, today (01.07.2025) received a high-level delegation from the Taiwan Business Association at the Presidential Palace.
The Vice President was accompanied by the Minister of Investment and Industrial Development, Hon. Saeed Mohamed Burale, who organized the meeting.
In his remarks, the Minister stated that his Ministry serves as the gateway for anyone interested in investing in Somaliland. He noted that the Ministry has developed comprehensive investment laws and policies to attract and build the confidence of foreign investors.
Minister Burale informed the Vice President that the Ministry will showcase the investment opportunities available in Somaliland to the visiting delegation.
The Vice President expressed gratitude to the Taiwan Business Association for visiting Somaliland and welcomed the growing cooperation between Somaliland and Taiwan. He emphasized the Somaliland government’s commitment to creating a stable and conducive environment for investors and highlighted the mutual benefits of the partnership, especially in key sectors such as livestock, fisheries, agriculture, mining, technology, commerce, and infrastructure.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Chairwoman of the Taiwan Business Association, Ms. Alyne Chen, thanked the Vice President and the Ministry of Investment for the warm welcome. She stated that they are ready to explore and mutually benefit from the vast investment opportunities in Somaliland.
The Chairwoman expressed interest in specific sectors including:
Fisheries and marine resources, Water purification, Animal health, Financing small businesses, Production and marketing of electronics
The Taiwan Business Association delegation included companies such as:

ztq entertainment, hw capital, central sky international trading co, excelsior bio-system incorporation
In conclusion, both parties expressed strong interest in expanding economic and trade relations and strengthening multi-sectoral cooperation between the Republic of Somaliland and Taiwan.
