Changsha (Hornpost ) The Federal Republic of Somalia officially participated in the Ministerial Level Conference on the Implementation of FOCAC Decisions, which was held in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. Somalia was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, who led a high-level delegation.

Minister Abdisalam welcomed the new promises announced by the President of China, His Excellency Xi Jinping, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Wang Yi, which strengthen African-China cooperation in the areas of development, trade, technology, and food security. He particularly praised the leadership role that China is taking in the development of the African continent, saying that these promises are in line with the aspirations of the Somali nation based on stability, growth and reconstruction.

The minister noted that in the last 25 years since the establishment of the FOCAC Forum, Africa has made significant progress, from infrastructure, to expanding business and investment opportunities. He described FOCAC as a successful example that reflects what true friendship is not only based on words, but leads to visible and effective results.

Somalia, said the Minister, fully supports the construction of a community with a shared future led by cooperation based on respect and transparency. He clearly expressed Somalia’s priority for the development of human capacity, the construction of digital governance (e-governance), the development of domestic production and the promotion of export trade, seeing the opportunity for cooperation with China as one that can contribute to those goals.
