Hargeisa (Horn) Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Ahmed Mohamud Jama, today officially opened the training (internship) for doctors in 2025. The new doctors will take their exercises in the country’s major hospitals, where they will learn complete work experience to strengthen their medical skills.
The opening ceremony of the exercise was attended by the Director of the Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Health Development of Somaliland, the Head of Training of the Ministry, the Directors of the major hospitals in Somaliland, as well as medical experts from the Ministry of Health Development.
The Director of the Department of Personnel and the Head of Training and the Directors of Hospitals encouraged doctors to take advantage of this opportunity, highlighting the importance of having knowledgeable and experienced professionals.
Dr. Ahmed Mohamud Jama, speaking at the opening of the event, said that this exercise is important for improving new doctors and improving health services in the country. He stressed that the Ministry of Health Development of Somaliland is committed to providing new doctors with excellent training in accordance with the health needs of the community.
The training of doctors in 2025 is expected to contribute greatly to improving the quality of health services in Somaliland, as doctors will get direct experience from different medical sectors in hospitals in Somaliland.
