President of republic of Djibouti receives the Vice-President of the Russian Parliament

Djibouti (Hornpost.net / .com) President of republic of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh received on Wednesday at the Palace of the Republic the Vice-President of the State Douma of the federation of Russia Viktoria Abramchenko on an official visit to Djibouti as part of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

The exchanges between President Ismail Omar Guelleh and the Vice-President of the Russian Parliament have given priority to the prospects of mutually beneficial partnerships, based on the shared will to diversify and intensify their bilateral cooperation.

Discussions included developing new partnerships in the areas of economy and trade, logistics, port infrastructure, as well as higher education and vocational training.

And So many sectors in which Russia wants to invest more, capitalizing on Djibouti’s geostrategic position, described as a “natural logistics hub” at the crossroads of major world maritime routes.

At the end of the interview, Mrs. Abramchenko praised Djibouti’s economic assets and expressed Russia’s determination to encourage its private operators to invest in it. “Djibouti offers a viable and stable economic outlet for Russian companies eager to establish themselves in the region,” she told the press, reaffirming her country’s commitment to supporting any sustainable cooperation initiative.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Dileita Mohamed Dileita, who attended the hearing, underlined the willingness of the Djibouti Parliament to accompany this dynamic in favour of a strengthened relationship between the two nations.

Mrs. Abramchenko was accompanied by a high-level parliamentary delegation including Mrs. Sardana Avksentieva, Vice-Chairman of the Committee for Legislation and State Building, and Mr. Abramchenka Evgueniy Bessonov, deputy in charge of budgetary and fiscal matters. Ambassador of Russia to Djibouti M. Mikhail Golovanov also took part in the exchanges.

On the Djibouti side, the members of the office of the National Assembly and the Ambassador of Djibouti in office in Moscow, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ali Kamil were present.
