Libreville (Hornpost) The Head of State, His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, this Saturday took part in the inauguration ceremony of his Gabon-elect counterpart, Mr Brice Oligui Nguema, winner of the presidential election held on April 12 in the country.

This is a ceremony that was the point of organ the official speech that President Oligui Nguema made at the tribune of his inauguration.

The participation of the President of Djibouti at the inauguration ceremony of his elected counterpart from Gabon testifies to the quality of friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries and the two peoples with many similarities, including a common base of values, culture and language.

The strengthening of the Djibouti-Gabon links is, among other things, led through a framework agreement between the two countries in 2013 and, opening the way for the possibility, for the two nations, to establish strategic cooperation partnerships between them in all sectors of sustainable development.

Proof also of the eminently privileged nature of the relations between Djibouti and Gabon, the two countries have been governed, for more than 10 years, by the principle of mutual visa exemption for their nationals, holders of diplomatic, official and service passports.

As is customary, the Head of State, His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, on the sidelines of his participation in the inauguration ceremony of the Gabonese President, interviewed with the main political leaders of the country HOST as well as several others of his African counterparts on the move like him in Libreville.

As part of this tour to Gabon, President Guelleh is accompanied by an important delegation including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Abdoulkader Houssein Omar and the Permanent Representative of our country to Gabon and the Resident Ambassador and Plenipotentiary of the Republic from Djibouti to the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, His Excellency Mohamed Bourhan Ali.
