Burao (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), today laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction and modernization of the famous Alamsey Football Stadium in the city of Burao.
This new project will expand the stadium and incorporate modern facilities essential for the advancement of national sports.
The President described Alamsey Stadium as an important symbol for the youth and community of Burao, serving as a hub for promoting sports, health, and social cohesion.
He further stated that the reconstruction of Alamsey Stadium is part of the government’s broader plan to develop youth initiatives and sports infrastructure across the country.
Meanwhile, the President also inaugurated a 19-kilometer road project implemented by the Burao Municipality.
The Mayor of Burao, Mr. Mohamed Hirsi Ahmed, speaking at the event, said that the municipality has prioritized the construction of modern roads to ease urban transportation within the city.
After cutting the ribbon, the President delivered brief remarks, commending the Burao municipal authorities and their staff for their efforts in developing the city, and urged them to redouble their commitment to progress.
