President of Somaliland Urges Heads of Independent Institutions to Strengthen Accountability and Transparency

Hargeisa, (Hornpost) – President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), today inaugurated a workshop and training session organized for the newly appointed leaders of the country’s independent government institutions.

This workshop, which holds great importance for the reform of national institutions, effective inter-agency collaboration, and good governance, was used by the President to emphasize the need to strengthen the culture of responsibility. He encouraged the new heads of the independent agencies to uphold accountability, transparency, efficiency, and the public’s trust in government administration.

Furthermore, the President warned the new leaders of the independent government institutions that the administration of Unity and Delivery will not tolerate any form of corruption or misconduct.

The training, jointly organized by the Presidential Office, the Civil Service Commission, the Good Governance Commission, and the University of Hargeisa, was held at the main hall of the Somaliland Police Headquarters. It was designed to lay the foundation for the work plan and effective strategies that the new officials, recently appointed under the Unity and Delivery government, are expected to follow.

Additionally, the Ministers of the Presidency, Mr. Khadar Hussein Abdi, and of Information, Culture, and Awareness, Mr. Ahmed Yasin Sheikh Ali Ayanle, who spoke in succession, elaborated on the national importance of the training and the expected outcomes. They advised the officials taking part in the program to exert serious effort so that their performance reflects the knowledge and skills gained from this training.

President Abdirahman Cirro also stated that the new leaders would be provided with knowledge to enhance efficient collaboration within the government and insights necessary for the goals and visions of each agency.
