The President of the Republic of Somaliland Pays a Working Visit to the Headquarters of the National Army Command
Hargeisa (Hornpost.net) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), today paid a working visit to the Headquarters of the National Army Command of the Republic of Somaliland.
The purpose of this visit was for the President to assess the functioning and operations of the National Army.
During his stay at the Army Headquarters, the President held a meeting with the Commander of the National Army, Major General Nimcan Yusuf Osman (Gaxnug), along with senior military officers. He listened to a detailed briefing on the overall situation of the National Army, their needs, and the plans for further development. The President emphasized that such meetings with the military will continue a regular basis.
The President praised the National Army for the heavy responsibilities they shoulder for the country and their constant readiness to defend the nation and its people. He underlined that the Somaliland Armed Forces are the main pillar of nationhood and the existence of statehood. The President reaffirmed that training and modern equipment for the National Army will be further strengthened to maintain public trust and fulfill their constitutional duties.
“Anyone who attempts to trespass against Somaliland, we will pursue them even into their homes,” said the President.
Furthermore, the President announced the launch of a housing project for the National Army, a pledge he had made during the election campaign. He also confirmed that officers who have reached the required service period will soon be promoted.
The President stated, “We are beginning the construction of the first houses for the National Army.”
Finally, the President awarded certificates to army officers who had recently completed various training programs abroad.
This visit clearly demonstrates the President’s strong commitment to building a modern National Army, fully capable of safeguarding the security and defense of the Republic of Somaliland.
