President of Republic Somaliland Lays Foundation Stones for Development Projects of Education, Healthcare, and Sports in Daadmadheedh Region.

Oodweyne – (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro), together with a large delegation accompanying him on the fourth day of his official working tour to the regions of Togdheer and Daadmadheedh, visited the Aroori Rangeland Reserve for livestock fattening in the early hours of the morning.

At the site, the President received a detailed briefing from the Director General of the Ministry of Livestock and Rural Development, Mr. Ahmed Osman (Talo-Same), along with other officials and staff managing the reserve. They explained the different types of animal fodder produced in Aroori Reserve.

President Cirro praised the project, noting that the Aroori Rangeland Reserve is a model worth emulating across Somaliland. He emphasized its vital role in improving livestock health and productivity, strengthening pastoralist livelihoods, and contributing to the overall national economy.

The President further underlined that reserves like Aroori are a national asset, offering multiple benefits such as livestock fattening, environmental protection, land preservation, and resilience against climate change and drought. He assured that his government would continue to support and expand such projects, as livestock remain the backbone of Somaliland’s economy.

Foundation of Seven New Schools in Education:

Later in Oodweyne, President Cirro officially laid the foundation stone for seven new schools under the Basic Education Development Program in Daadmadheedh region.

These schools are expected to significantly expand access to education for children and youth, while improving the quality and availability of learning opportunities for the local communities.

The President stated that this initiative forms part of his administration’s broad Unity and Progress Agenda, aimed at advancing education, building the future of the younger generation, and strengthening the nation’s knowledge base.

Foundation of Oodweyne Football Stadium:

President Cirro and his delegation also laid the foundation stone for the new Oodweyne Football Stadium. He was joined by the Minister and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, who highlighted the role of sports in preventing substance abuse and delinquency.

The President underscored the importance of the stadium in promoting sports, community integration, and the physical and mental well-being of young people. He noted that such community infrastructure projects play a key role in encouraging health, creativity, and unity.

He also reaffirmed his government’s special commitment to expanding opportunities for Somaliland youth, especially in sports, and called on the youth of Oodweyne to take advantage of this new facility for their growth and aspirations.

Expansion of Oodweyne District Hospital:

In addition, President Cirro laid the foundation stone for the expansion of Oodweyne District Hospital. The project will add modern health services and essential facilities to better serve the local community.

He stressed that access to healthcare is a basic right of every citizen, and this expansion reflects his government’s efforts to strengthen the country’s health services. The project will particularly benefit the residents of Daadmadheedh region and its surrounding areas.

Finally, the President stated that the hospital expansion is a significant step in improving healthcare quality and reducing health-related challenges faced by the people of Oodweyne.
