Hargeysa,(Hornpost) –

In a bold move underscoring the Republic of Somaliland’s unwavering defense of its sovereignty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Abdirahman Dahir Adan, compelled the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Hargeisa to appear for official questioning—following verified intelligence of a clandestine meeting in Mogadishu between Turkey’s Ambassador and a figure implicated in anti-Somaliland destabilization efforts.

In a robust and unequivocal press statement, Somaliland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs vehemently denounced the Turkish government’s blatant interference in Somaliland’s internal affairs, affirming its steadfast commitment to preserving national security and political independence.

Following this meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Somaliland issued a press statement condemning Turkey’s interference in the internal affairs of Somaliland.

Press Release:

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Somaliland has summoned the General Consul of the Republic of Turkey in Hargeisa, following reports of a recent engagement in Mogadishu between the Turkish Ambassador and an individual actively involved in hostile actions against Somaliland.

The Government of the Republic of Somaliland considers this act deeply alarming and unacceptable, as it undermines the principle of non-interference, damages mutual respect between Somaliland and Turkey, and contributes to further instability in the Horn of Africa.

The Government of the Republic of Somaliland demands a formal and urgent explanation from the Government of Türkiye and affirms that Somaliland will not tolerate actions that compromise its sovereignty, security, or national interests.
