Hargeisa (Hornpost) The Somaliland Police Forces have arrested a suspect accused of committing a murder in Hargeisa this afternoon. The individual is alleged to have killed a woman from the Oromo community in the Gacmo-dheere district of the city.

Thanks to the swift operations of the police, the suspect was apprehended and will soon be brought before the judicial authorities to face charges.

Meanwhile, the Somaliland Police have been conducting nighttime citizen’s vehicle inspections across the capital’s marketplaces as part of broader efforts to tighten security in the country.

During these ongoing night operations, police seized various weapons, illicit alcohol, cannabis (hashish), counterfeit US dollars, and arrested several suspects in possession of the contraband.

The overall security situation in Somaliland has been significantly strengthened both day and night, enabling the police to confiscate illegal items and detain those involved.

Deputy Commissioner of the Somaliland Police, Abdi Muse, confirmed the successful operations and stated that the seized items — including weapons, alcohol, drugs, and counterfeit currency — would soon be presented to the public along with other materials recovered.

Tonight, the police launched an intensive inspection campaign targeting different types of vehicles to further reinforce national security. This follows a recent directive issued by the Commander of the Somaliland Police Force, Brigadier General Abdirahman Abdillahi Hassan, who emphasized the importance of security during a press briefing last week.
