The President of the Republic of Somaliland Holds Important Meeting with the Top Leadership of the Three National Parties

Hargeisa (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi, today held an important meeting at the Presidential Palace with the senior leadership of the three national political parties: WADDANI, KAAH, and KULMIYE.

The meeting focused on strengthening national unity and cohesion, preserving the country’s political stability, and adopting a united stance on crucial matters affecting the sovereignty and future of the Republic of Somaliland.

The President underscored the importance of maintaining continuous dialogue and open consultations among Somaliland’s political stakeholders to strengthen the state-building process, democracy, and the overall development of the country.

The President also reaffirmed to the opposition parties that his government is fully prepared to cooperate with them in nation-building efforts and that their input on matters of national importance is valued. The President emphasized that the government will always engage in consultations at appropriate times.

The leaders of the three national parties thanked the President for the meeting and shared their views on the current political situation, strengthening and finalizing democratic processes, and the electoral system. They also confirmed their readiness to support and cooperate with the government in all possible ways that serve the national interests of the Republic of Somaliland.

The meeting strongly condemned the blatant and irresponsible interference by the Federal Government of Somalia in the eastern part of the Sool region of Somaliland, which is causing political unrest in the area.

The Government of the Republic of Somaliland calls on the international community to closely monitor the incitement of conflict orchestrated by Hassan Sheikh in parts of Somaliland — actions that threaten the sovereignty of the Republic of Somaliland and pose a danger to the peace, stability, and coexistence of communities in the Horn of Africa.

The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding on the need for unity, responsibility, and collective action on national priorities.
