Press Release
Three senior ringleaders of the al-Shabaab Khawarij group have been eliminated in a planned joint operation conducted by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), the Somali National Army (SNA), and international partners. The operation took place on June 6, 2025, in the Ceelhareeri area of the Hiiraan region.
The confirmed individuals killed in this targeted operation are the following three key figures:
- Nuur Cabdi Rooble (Nuunuule): the al-Shabaab Khawarij ringleader responsible for operations across Hiiraan, Middle Shabelle, and Mudug and Galgaduud regions. He succumbed to critical injuries sustained in the strike.
- Ringleader Caddaw – responsible for what the Khawarij refer to as “intelligence tracking” in the Galgaduud region.
- Macallin Cumar – a ringleader overseeing the indoctrination and training of al-Shabaab militants.
This brings the total number of Khawarij ringleaders eliminated in this operation to five. All neutralized terrorists were involved in orchestrating terror activities in Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle.
The Federal Government of Somalia is closely monitoring the situation of injured militants and ringleaders, whom the Khawarij are attempting to evacuate from conflict zones.
There is no escape from justice or the courage of the Somali National Forces for those bloodthirsty ringleaders who have long terrorized innocent civilians.
