DJIBOUTI, (Hornpost) Somalia Prime Minister, Mr. Xamse Cabdi Bare, left Djibouti on Tuesday evening for Mogadishu, after a 72-hour working visit.
Placed under the sign of strengthening exchanges and solidarity between the two countries and their brotherly peoples, this visit was punctured by several meetings with the Djibouti authorities.
The highlight of this official visit was, without doubt, the hearing given by the President of the Republic of Djibouti, M. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, and the head of the Somali government.
The interview was an opportunity for both sides to salute the excellence of bilateral cooperation and the ties of special friendship that unite the two sister nations.
In addition to Djibouti’s multifaceted support for a peaceful and prosperous Somalia, the two leaders reviewed the security and political situation in the region, as well as the common aspirations for strengthened economic integration in this part of the continent.
Prime Minister Bare, who was making his second official visit to Djibouti there, also had an interview with his Djiboutian counterpart, M. Abdoulkader Mohamed Kamil, at a working lunch given in his honor.
During his stay Mr. Bare also visited the heights of Mount Ougoul, in Arta, where he was able to visit the site that houses the famous Inter-Somali Peace Conference, as well as the museum dedicated to him.
“The working visit of the Somali Prime Minister to Djibouti was undoubtedly a complete success in all respects,” Djibouti’s Minister of Communication in charge of Posts and Telecommunications, Mr. M. told ADI. Radwan Abdillahi Bahdon, who served as the principal coordinator of this entire mission
Bahdon added that this visit helped further reinforce the “unique and historic” character of the relations between Djibouti and the sister Republic of Somalia.
A major player in the Somali issue, Djibouti has been contributing since 2011 to the African Union Peacekeeping Mission in Somalia with two contingents deployed in strategic areas, including in the region of Hiraan, in the south of the country, long considered a stronghold of the terrorist movement of Somalia Shebab.
Visit of Arta City Djibouti
Before leaving the port of Djibouti, he visited the city of Carta, which was established 25 years ago by the Somali government led by Abdiqasim Salad Hassan.
The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, who is on a business trip to our brother country of the Republic of Djibouti, today visited the historic city of Carta, which was the birthplace of the Third Republic of Somalia, in 2000.
The Prime Minister visited various places in the city of Carta, especially where the conference was held in 2000, where a large museum was implemented that stores all the history of the conference and the different stages it went through.
Mr. Hamsa thanked the government and the people of Djibouti for the great role they played in the construction of the government of Somalia, praising the building of the museum stored in the history of the conference, so that the next generations can find a trace on the history of the conference.
