U.S. Conducts Airstrikes Against ISIS-Somalia Militants.

Mogadishu (Hornpost) the Ministry of Information, Awareness and Tourism of Somalia has issued a press release on the airstrikes carried out by the US Air Force in Somalia, especially in the Puntland region.

In partnership with the Federal Government of Somalia, United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) has conducted two airstrikes targeting militants affiliated with ISIS-Somalia.

The first strike was carried out on May 31, 2025, approximately 75 kilometers south of Bosaso, while the second took place on June 1, 2025, around 72 kilometers south of the city in the Bari region.

These military operations are part of ongoing efforts to diminish the operational capabilities of ISIS-Somalia, aiming to prevent terrorist plots that threaten Somali citizens, security forces, and international partners.

The Federal Government of Somalia has expressed its gratitude to AFRICOM and reaffirmed its strong commitment to combating terrorism. Together with the Somali people and international allies, the government remains dedicated to promoting peace and stability across the nation.
