Reaffirming the position of the Government of Kenya the opening of Somaliland Diplomatic office

Nairobi (Hornpost) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Kenya has issued a statement on the opening of the Somaliland Office building in Nairobi, confirming that it has approved the rules for the opening of the Somaliland Embassy in Kenya.

Kenya underlined that it does not harm the independence of Somalia and the relationship between the two countries.

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi, opened the new building of the Somaliland Embassy in Nairobi.

The Kenyan government has faced diplomatic pressure from China and Somalia against the opening of the Somaliland Embassy and the visit of the President of the Republic of Somaliland to the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya has issued different statement since the visit of President Iro and a delegation led by him.

It declares that Somaliland has opened its embassy and shares diplomatic and economic business relations that benefit the community on both sides while on the other hand it has confirmed that it will protect the unity and independence of Somalia and diplomatic relationship between them.
