The Prime Minister of Somalia opened a friendly football match in Mogadishu where played by three African famous stars Eto’o, Adebayor, Okocha

Mogadishu (Hornpost) The Prime Minister of the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, participated in the viewing of a historic friendly match between the former legends of the national team and those of the African continent, namely Samuel Eto’o, Jay-Jay Okocha and Emmanuel Adebayor.

This game, which is based on interaction, friendly promotion, reflects the new hope of peace in Somalia, especially in the field of sports development, and it is an opportunity to make an official assessment so that our national team has international sports fields.

The Prime Minister said that this event is an important step as part of the Government’s efforts to restore the reputation and power of Somali sports, noting that the presence of international stars and sports leaders shows the return of international confidence in the field of Somalia sports.

Those players, including the former Cameroon star, who is now the president of his country’s football association Samuel Eto’o, former Togolese player Emmanuel Adebayor and former Nigerian star Jay-Jay Okocha, are part of a tour to assess the possibility of Somalia host international games.

Somalia last hosted international matches before the country’s civil war in 1991, and is now trying to gain the trust of international sports associations.
