President of the Republic of Somaliland officially announced the establishment of the National Fund for the Care of Orphans, which the Government is pouring in $100,000 USD.

Hargeisa (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro) today officially announced the National Day of People’s Aid of the Republic of Somaliland which will be the 10th of May, which will be celebrated every year.

The president Irro speaking at the occasion of the event said “Public Assistance Day is a special day that will promote and strengthen our nation’s aid programs, compassion for each other, help our needy people, and educate each other about the value of aid.”

The President said that this day will be a day to encourage the community of the Republic of Somaliland to give charity, alms, and to find resources to seek help for the poor. Externally, let us as a nation fulfill our duty to help our needy people and strengthen social justice.

The President of the Republic of Somaliland speaking about the reason for this event held at the Orphanage and Child Welfare Center said:

“This year we have chosen the Orphanage to be the place where I announce this program, to remind us of the duty of all of us to care for and educate orphans, and to provide tangible and continuous support to our needy people.”

On the other hand, on the same occasion of this charity, the President of the Republic of Somaliland announced the establishment of the National Fund for Orphan Care, which the Government is pouring in $100,000.

The President underlined that as the President he guarantees the education, health, life and work of young children who are cared for in Orphanage and National Welfare Centers.
