Somaliland Council of Ministers discussed security, the removal of illegal immigrants, and the laws on arrival visas in Somaliland

Hargeisa (Hornpost) the 18th session of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Somaliland chaired by the President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro) was held today at the Somaliland Presidential Palace and many important issues for the nation of Somaliland were discussed.

1) A general report related to the country’s security situation was informed by the Minister of the Ministry of Interior and Security

i told the Assembly that the overall security of the country is secure, except for the daily crimes that occur in the community and traffic accidents. On the other hand, the Minister, in full meetings and consultations with all the relevant security agencies, told the Assembly that he issued a decision that all foreigners in Somaliland are illegal. to leave the country within 3 days. The minister said that after that period, the security agencies will expel the foreigners who are in Somaliland illegally.

(2) The Minister of Finance and Economic Development gave the Assembly a general report related to the economic conditions of the country and the process of developing the National Income. The Minister shared with the Assembly recommendations and an effective plan to develop the country’s economy prepared by a technical committee and academics selected by the Ministries from the Economic Subcommittee of the Council of Ministers.

The Technical Committee specifically underlined that it is necessary to review and reform the Policy and Regulations that can be the basis for the development of the country’s economy during the tenure of the Joint Government and Action. After that, the members of the Council of Ministers had a long discussion on the most appropriate form and strategy to enable the development of the National Economy of the Republic of Somaliland.

3) A report proposed by the Social Affairs Committee related to the drought situation in the country and the negative impact it has had on the lives of people, animals, agriculture and the environment:

The Minister of Social Affairs, Education, Water and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture gave a detailed report on the effects of the drought on us.

The Minister also suggested to the Assembly that there is a need for organized assistance and a National Plan to deal with repeated droughts.

4) The Minister of Aviation and Airport Development presented to the Council of Ministers an initiative to implement the Immigration Policy (Somaliland Visa On Arrival Policy- VOA), and he gave details about the importance of this issue aviation Services, Tourism and Economic Development of the country.

6) The Minister of Transport and Road Development, Mr. Osman Ibrahim Noor (Afgab), who was part of the delegation led by the Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, who has been in the Eastern Regions for more than 80 days for peace and nationalization of the Civilian Forces, gave a balanced report on the manner and the way these activities have approached, the challenges faced, how they solved it and how they ended the historical success they brought to the nation of the Republic of Somaliland.

7) Finally, the President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro) informed the Council of Ministers that the issue of nationalization of the civil forces has ended, which is a great victory for the nation of the Republic of Somaliland, as we have once again confirmed the good and the good humanity of the people of Somaliland.

The President thanked the Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland and the delegation he led for the peace of the Eastern Regions and the nationalization of the Civilian Forces until the second month of this year 2025.

Also, the President of the Republic of Somaliland thanked the leaders, leaders, intellectuals, women, youth, and everyone who contributed to the historic victory that is of great importance to the nation of Somaliland.
