Entebbe (Horn) The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, attended the summit of the countries that are part of the African Union Support Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) and international friends, which was held at the Presidency of Uganda in Entebbe.
The President gave a speech at the meeting in which he expressed the achievements of the Somali National Army in the fight against terrorism, stressing the importance of supporting the government and the Somali people in that war and supporting the reconstruction of the National Army to take over security of the country.
The meeting was attended by leaders from different countries; Kenya, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, and representatives of the United Nations, the African Union, IGAD, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States Government.
The leaders of the meeting agreed on important points including:
-That the meeting praised the achievements confirmed by DFS including; joining the East African Economic Cooperation Organization (EAC), membership of the United Nations Security Council, lifting the arms embargo, reforming the economy and starting the registration of voters for direct elections.
-To accelerate support for the training, equipping, and strengthening of the Somali National Army.
-To strengthen support in the field of aircraft, intelligence, and air support in the fight against terrorism.
-To encourage the cooperation of the central government and the states, to ensure the stability of the liberated land.
-To implement the fundraising strategy of the AUSSOM mission and the support given to the Somali forces.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud thanked the leaders of the countries that are part of the AUSSOM mission for their efforts for peace and stability in Somalia, and noted that Somalia is committed to completing the construction of the national army and ensuring the general security of the country.
The President of Uganda, whose country hosted the meeting, said that there is a need for African countries to support Somalia.

The chairman of the African Union, Mahmoud Ali Yusuf, also participated in the meeting.
Countries where troops are stationed in Somalia participated in the meeting in Djibouti, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Egypt.
