The President of Somaliland discussed about the relations with the United States, UAE, Ethiopia and Djibouti, the crisis in Las’anod and the nationalization of Somaliland's civil forces.

Hargeisa (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro), gave his first annual speech to the Somaliland Parliament, where he gave a speech touching on many aspects.

A joint session of the House of Representatives and the Senate of Somaliland chaired by the Chairman of the Somaliland Senate Saleeban Mohamud Adan welcomed President Abdirahman Irro to the House and gave a speech in which he focused specifically on the things that his government has done during the first hundred days of his duties and the things he plans for the future.

The president also speaking  about the important steps taken by his government in matters of peace and the expansion of basic social services such as the economy, health, agriculture and other services.

The President of Somaliland spoke about the achievements of his government such as the nationalization of the civil forces that were fighting in the east of Somaliland by the people and 34 years after the first civil forces were formed in Somaliland, he also talked about the implementation of the modern registration of the armed forces said “We nationalized the weapons and the civil forces and started training, which today is an army that joined the national army. We have done statistics and records of the source of all these forces, to ensure the exact number of different national forces, and to remove the name and existence of the word plastica” said President Irro.

Relations between the United Arab Emirates and Somaliland:

“The Arab Emirates have accepted us to invest in our country and to help us find new international markets for Somaliland’s products. The completion of this task is now being carried out by technical committees that we have appointed on both sides. The UAE government will help us with health infrastructure, education, water and roads.” said President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Irro

Relations between the United States and Somaliland:

President Irro, who spoke about the recognition of Somaliland and the diplomatic relations they have made with major countries such as the United States, noted “We have had important diplomatic relations and access with important countries that can help us in our cause. One of them is the United States, which we have strengthened, our efforts to further promote its interest in Somaliland and the United Kingdom, which we have received security assistance and multilateral cooperation”.

A trip to Djibouti and Ethiopia:

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Irro, during his annual speech to the two Houses of the Somaliland Parliament, also said that he will strengthen the relationship between Somaliland and the countries of Ethiopia and Djibouti.

We confirmed that he will travel to those countries and said, “The government of the Republic of Somaliland is strengthening the historical relationship based on good neighborliness, brotherhood and cooperation, which we have with the countries of Ethiopia and Djibouti, and it is planning trips that we will go to those countries.”

Prime Minister of Somalia’s trip to Las’anod:

President Irro, while delivering his speech against the parliament, spoke about the recent trip to Lasanod by the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre.

President Irro said that the trip could lead to “a civil war that comes soon,  My government has informed the international community that the arrival of the Prime Minister of Somalia is a violation of the sovereignty of Somaliland and an encouragement of Somalia’s open war against the Republic of Somaliland to disrupt and undermine peace efforts. and the brotherhood that Somaliland is doing with great hard work and hard struggle. Again, we warn that the violation could cause immediate civil strife.”  He said this infront of the Somaliland parliament.
