The President of the Republic of Somaliland today received the delegation led by the Representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) at the Presidential Palace

Hargeisa (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro) today received the Representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Mr. Etienne Peterschmitt and his delegation including Dr. Abdikarim Mogeh Chief of the FAO Office in Somaliland and Dr. PAPA NDIAYE FAO Somaliland Fisheries Coordinator.

The President was accompanied by the Minister of Planning, the Minister of Fisheries, the Speaker and the Secretary of the President.

First of all, the President of the Republic of Somaliland welcomed the delegation from the FAO, and thanked the FAO for its long-standing cooperation with Somaliland and its support to Somaliland.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed how to cooperate together on issues of special priority for the nation of the Republic of Somaliland, especially in terms of livestock development, rural life, agriculture and fishing.

The representative of FAO expressed their willingness to support the development agenda of the Government of the Republic of Somaliland. He also said that he is very happy that the staff of the FAO in Somaliland is highly skilled and knowledgeable.

The President confirmed that his Joint and Action Government is committed to working closely with the FAO, and to coordinate the assistance provided by the FAO to Somaliland and transform it into a significant growth in food security, adaptation to climate change and promoting the way of life of the people of the Republic of Somaliland.
