The President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro) together with members of the Government of Somaliland today held a meeting with the top leaders of the Pharo Foundation, an organization that works on human development issues, especially in Education, Health, Agriculture, Water and Environment of the Republic of Somaliland
The General Office of the Pharo Foundation is located in the United Kingdom, and has offices in Somaliland, Ethiopia, Kenya and Rwanda.

The general purpose of this meeting was for the Government of the Republic of Somaliland and the Pharo Foundation to cooperate in financing and implementing the country’s agricultural production and improving food security.
The President welcomed the meeting with the leaders of the Pharo Foundation and told them that the Government is committed to attracting and cooperating with anyone who is seriously investing in Agriculture, Livestock, Mines and various resources. Somaliland is rich.
The President told the officials of the Pharo Foundation that investment in agriculture and water supply in the country’s agricultural lands is an important strategic step that proves the Republic of Somaliland’s commitment to transparently cooperate with investors, to aim nationally for sustainable development and food security.
On the other hand, the President underlined the important role that modern farming methods and natural water capture methods can play in revitalizing the economy of the local community, improving food security, and also to ensure long-term environmental protection.
On their part, the senior leaders of the Pharo Foundation thanked the President of the Republic of Somaliland for welcoming, receiving and making this important meeting possible. In the same way, they praised the President for the success of the Presidential election and praised Somaliland for the peace, stability and mature democratic system that has been implemented in Somaliland.
The heads of the Pharo Foundation said that they came to the Presidential Palace to discuss the Agriculture Project with the President of the Republic of Somaliland and his Government, which is the largest and most economical project that the Pharo Foundation intends to implement in Somaliland so far.
They said that the cooperation between them and the Government of Somaliland has long-term ambitions and goals that will be effective in Somaliland, which will lead to more development and benefits in water capture and the cultivation of agricultural projects. It will be possible to modern and capitalize on water and store large amounts of water, irrigate agricultural land, using modern farming techniques, as well as protect the environment.
