Minister Dr. Hussein Bashir inaugurated the International Project of Health Workers in Somaliland.

Hargeisa (Hornpost.net / .com) The Minister of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland Dr. Hussain Bashir Hirsi today officially launched a large-scale project that will work on the development of health workers in Somaliland.

The Ministry of Health Development in collaboration with the Global Health Partnership (GHP) has implemented this program called the International Health Workers Project (Global Health Workforce Project) funded by the British government, which aims to develop health workers in Somaliland.

A large event for the launch of this program was attended by officials from the Ministry of Health Development, the National Health Professionals Commission (NHPC), WHO, PSI, the University of Hargeisa, Amoud University, Burco University and Edna University. Adan, Hargeisa Medical College, Hargeisa Hospital and Somaliland Nurses and Midwives Association (SLNMA) and important stakeholders to share experience  and cooperation towards the implementation of national plans to strengthen health workers.

Noura Aydeed from the Global Health Workforce explained the importance of this project and said that this project will unite a hospital in Somaliland and one in England and this project is funded by the British Government

The Minister of the Ministry of Health Development of Somaliland officially launched the project, praised everyone who worked on this project, underlining that the Ministry is always focusing on improving the quality of knowledge and skills of health workers in Somaliland.

The Minister of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland Dr. Hussain Bashir Hirsi spoke about this project and its importance for Somaliland and thanked the British Government for funding it.

Let’s treat them well and have our interests in them and the British are the big country to compete for we will improve the relationship, I am especially grateful to Dr. Adna Aden if there were 10 women like Dr. Adna Aden from Somaliland, we would have made great progress, especially in terms of health The government of Somaliland encourages and is committed to encouraging President Abdirahman to work with people who contribute to the private sector who have contributed to the development of the country. I am grateful to the people in general for their efforts in the implementation of this project”

This event was also an opportunity to present the projects that will be carried out by the medical cooperatives that received the award through the Global Health Workforce Project and to strengthen cooperation between these groups.
