Hargeisa (Hornpost.net) The former Minister of Space and Communications of Somaliland, Abdiwali Sufi, has made various accusations against the Government of Somaliland.

Former Minister Abdiweli wrote a long article representing the opposition party of Kulmiye that published on the official Facebook of the party that Hornpost staff was translated and you can read below:

The voice of fiqi, minister of foreign affairs of Somalia and the silence of the government Somaliland

Yesterday, the Somaliland community received a statement from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mogadishu, Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, who said:  “RW Hamse’s visit to Lasanod is proof of the unity of Somalia, and it ended the secession.”

This statement is based on the vision and politics of the successive governments of Mogadishu since Somaliland regained its independence. Hassan Sheikh’s letter to the United States, RW Hamse’s travel plan and the actions of the Mogadishu administration all show the conflict and the war in Mogadishu against the independence of Somaliland.

The community of Somaliland must understand that the conflict in Sool and Sanag regions for three years is an organized plan to damage the political achievements of Somaliland, especially the relationship between the United States and the historic visit of President Muse Bihi in March 2022.

Among these achievements were:

This is the first time that the issue of Somaliland has been analyzed in the American political arena.

The Somaliland Partnership Act (Somaliland Partnership Act) has been implemented.

The United States Congress presented a bill recognizing the independence of Somaliland (Republic of Somaliland Independence Act).

Senior American officials came to Somaliland on official trips after that visit.

The international media recognized the strategic importance of Somaliland for the interests of the United States.

Fiqi’s statements and Hamse’s plan are evidence that shows how the conflict between Sool and Sanag is being used to undermine the territorial unity of Somaliland and damage its political reputation in the world.

Kulmiye’s position:

My Kulmiye party always stands for the protection, defense of Somaliland’s independence, and efforts to get full recognition of Somaliland, and supports the government in every step it takes to confirm the above mentioned points. Although today’s conservatives (yesterday’s opposition) did not support the Kulmiye government, especially during the conflict in the east, they often preferred their own political interests.

Government Position:

Today’s government seems to have adopted a “wait and wait” (see and wait) policy, which is a threat to the country’s foreign policy. The government should take clear decisions on the measures coming from Mogadishu, and the Somaliland community should constantly share its political position related to foreign affairs.

What should the Somaliland community do?

The people must understand that Somaliland’s nationalism has reached a point where it does not harm a visit to one city and statements that do not change the reality that the leaders of Mogadishu say. There is a need for unity, solidarity, and for everyone to take responsibility for the defense of Somaliland’s independence, and the government to be held accountable for its foreign policy.
