Hargeisa (Hornpost.com) Minister of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland Dr. Hussain Bashir Hirsi, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health Development of Somaliland Mrs. Samsam Mohamed Salah and Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of Somaliland Dr. Ahmed Mohamud Jama, jointly concluded the meeting to review and reform the National Health Policy.

The two-day conference was attended by the directors of the various departments of the Ministry of Health Development of Somaliland, heads of departments, international organizations, some national commissions, officials from private hospitals and social organizations.

Officials and leaders had a long discussion on the reform of Somaliland’s national health policy, especially issues related to the quality of medicine, health insurance, the country’s health structure, the relationship between the ministry and private agencies/hospitalities, the development of staff and the quality of health information, among them Dr Mohamed Abdi Gaboose who is the owner of one of the private hospitals in Hargeisa.

The heads of the Ministry of Health of Somaliland who spoke at the meeting all underlined that the Somaliland policy of bringing medicines to protect their quality and the provision of the law on the importation of medical equipment and medicines was discussed at the meeting, which is the first time that Somaliland has the law governing drug dealers and doctors in Somaliland. operating for the two days it lasted.

The top leaders of the Ministry of Health Development Somailand finally urged all officials to implement the provisions of the Somaliland Health Policy Reform while also thanking them for their participation in this conference.

The conference was opened by the President of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi in Hargeisa.
