El-Afweyn (Hornpost.com) The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, today officially opened the University Mosque in El Afweyn District of Sanaag region at the National Peace Conference in El-Afweyn.
The opening of the meeting was attended by members of the Council of Ministers such as the Minister of Transport and Road Development, the Deputy Minister of Investment, the Minister of State for Security and Internal Affairs, the Governor of Sanaag Region, the Commander of the National Army of the Republic of Somaliland, the Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Somaliland, Members of the two houses of the Somaliland parliament, religious priests and traditional leaders of the brotherly speaking at the opening of the El-Afweyn peace conference underlined the importance of peace for the local community, and called for a need to work together.
And urged to settle the peace of El-Afweyn at the same time avoid anything that undermines peace, and the unity and brotherhood of the El-Afweyn community.
the two officials from the Elafweyn district were also present at the peace meeting where the Director General of the Health Development Agency of the Republic of Somaliland Dr. Ahmed Mohamud Jama and the Director General of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals of the Republic of Somaliland, Shuayb Osman Mohamud underlined the need for the district to have peace and unity for the local people to live together.
The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, speaking at the opening of the meeting, said that the government is committed to ending the recurring violence in El Afweyn, and noted that the Government of Unity and Action is ready to implement projects that are useful to the local community in Eel Afweyn.
The Vice President of Somaliland said, “In the month of Ramadan, what we are in Sanaag Region is compassionate and sad, we want El Afweyn to return to the old one, I urge you to walk together, not to settle in different places where you live together, to consult together in unity, and not to consult with each other while opposing each other and being together”
The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, has announced that water and water will be delivered to the people of El-Afweyn District.
Elafweyn district of Sanag region has been in a long-standing conflict between the brothers who live in the area and there is armed violence in which many people have lost their lives.
It is expected that the nationalization of the tribal forces in the area and the reconciliation of the local community, which started their peace process before the Somaliland presidential elections held at the end of last year.
